IT Infrastructure: VMWare Certification Prep

Delegates receive a structured learning plan that will prepare them to sit the VMware VCP examination. It includes a lecture, some product demonstrations as well as class discussion, and a question and answer session.

OpenVMS Lab: c-Class Integrity Blades and Enclosures -- Installing and Configuring in an OpenVMS System

This hands-on lab will provide an overview of c-Class Integrity blades and enclosures. Attendees will learn all the steps needed to take a blade out of the box and install, configure, and power up an integrity blade ready to run the OpenVMS operating system. Topics to be covered include:

  • Enclosure types (C3000, C7000), Enclosure management (OA)
  • Enclosure switch and interconnect options including HP Virtual Connect
  • Integrity Blade types (bl860c, bl870c), Blades Management, Firmware updates, I/O options (Tapes,Storage blades and PCI expansion slots)
  • The Power, Cooling and Cabling benefits to using C-class enclosures.

OpenVMS Lab: Provisioning OpenVMS and Creating HP Virtual Machine Guests

Students will provision a BL860c Integrity server in a c7000 enclosure and watch a demonstration of the use of vMedia and InfoServer using HP System Insight Manager. Go from a bare-bones Blade all the way to booting OpenVMS on the blade. Attendees will do the provisioning at their own pace and be able to ask questions as they go. They will also learn how to remote install OpenVMS both with and without HP SIM. Attendees are encouraged to attend the Blades Hands-On Lab prior to attending this session.

De-Bugging Your NonStop Application Programs

This session provides participants an opportunity to use the newest debuggers on the Integrity NonStop servers: Visual Inspect and Native Inspect. Participants will be guided through the steps to debug programs in C, pTAL and COBOL using both of these debuggers highlighting some of their latest features.

Eclipse™ Labs for HP NonStop Servers

In 2007 HP introduced the NonStop Enterprise Plugins for Eclipse(TM) or EPE. EPE allows users to develop NonStop applications in Java, C, C++, COBOL, and pTAL on a Windows-based workstation. Participate in this hands-on lab to learn how to install EPE, configure cross compilers, create/run/debug sample programs as well as learn some cool productivity improving tips and tricks.
